Foreign Minister Rupel Responds to Voices Opposing NATO Membership

Ljubljana, 6 February - Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel on Wednesday provided additional explanations for sceptics of Slovenia's membership of NATO, reiterating that Slovenia will not lose its sovereignty by becoming a NATO member. Moreover, Rupel rejected claims that the government is covering up the actual costs of membership, and said that nuclear weapons would only be installed in Slovenia upon prior consent of the Slovene government.
