Weekly Review of the Slovene Economy from 2 to 8 February

Ljubljana, 10 February - Another week has passed without the resolution of the dispute between Croatia and Slovenia on the Croatian measures on road transport of crude oil. The Slovene Foreign Ministry decided to propose consultations on the issue to the southern neighbour at Thursday's parliamentary foreign affairs committee session. The dispute with Croatia was not, however, the only trade issue facing Slovenia this week. The latest include a Bulgarian state health insurance policy and the possibility that the United States would impose restrictions on the imports of foreign steel. Both measures would have detrimental effects for Slovene exporters and Slovene officials worked quickly in a bid to protect Slovene interests.
