1,900 Participants in Procession, 50,000-Strong Crowd at Shrovetide Festivities in Ptuj

Ptuj/Ljubljana, 10 February - Shrovetide festivities took place around Slovenia on Sunday, with the largest being staged in the historic town of Ptuj, NE Slovenia. Ptuj was thus host to the 42nd international Shrovetide procession which included some 1,900 participants, while more than 50,000 people gathered to watch the traditional celebrations.
