Ceplak Sets New National Record in 800 Metres
Gent, 10 February - Slovene track and field star Jolanda Ceplak set a new national record on her way to second place in the women's 800 metres at the international meeting in Gent on Sunday. Ceplak ran a time of 1:58.18, beating the previous best that she held by 0.61 seconds. The winner of today's race was Austria's Stefanie Graf with a time of 1:56.85, the second-best time ever in an indoor meet. Third place was taken by 2000 Sydney Olympics gold medal winner Maria Mutola of Mozambique who finished 0.63 seconds behind the winner.
