European Commission Pleased with Slovenia's Accession Process, Raises Some Concerns

Brussels, 15 February - There are no major problems in the process of Slovenia's EU accession, however the EU side did raise some concerns, as it wanted a guarantee that all procedures regarding the takeover of Slovene brewer Pivovarna Union are in line with the legislation on competition, said Thursday Andrej Engelman, head of the Slovene delegation at the annual meeting of the EU-Slovenia association committee, which convened in Brussels to review the country's accession to the EU and the implementation of bilateral agreements and goals.
