Slovene Railways Report a Drop in the Volume of Cargo in 2001
Ljubljana, 18 February - The Slovene Railways (SZ) carried 1.2 million tonnes of cargo last December, recording a total of 242.9 net tonne kilometres (NTKM) with revenues down some three percent year-on-year. In the whole of 2001, the railroads transported 14.9 million tonnes of goods and made 2.84 billion NTKM, a result in line with figures from a year before and three percent less than planned, according to a Slovene railroads newsletter.
