Slovenia's First Retailer to Invest in New Shopping Centres

Ljubljana, 21 February - Rather than making financial investments, Slovenia's largest retailer Mercator plans to invest SIT 24 billion (EUR 107.5 million) in new shopping centres in 2002, chairman of the board Zoran Jankovic told the Slovene daily Dnevnik on Thursday. According to him, Mercator's investments totalled around SIT 32 billion (EUR 143.3 million) in 2001, the majority of which went for shopping centres.
