Weekly Review of the Slovene Economy from 16 to 22 February

Ljubljana, 24 February - The losses of Slovene companies caused by the oil dispute between Slovenia and Croatia are not yet known, as the Economics Ministry is still gathering information. Both countries hope to come closer to a solution at a meeting scheduled for 25 February. Agriculture Minister Franc But told the agriculture committee of the European Parliament that Slovenia expects a differentiation between EU candidate countries in agriculture negotiations. The Slovene farmers find the quotas proposed by the EU unacceptable and are preparing to stage protests.
