Leading Slovene Newspaper Company Posts Profit of Nearly 4.5 Million Euros

Ljubljana, 27 February - The newspaper Delo made a profit of one billion tolars or nearly 4.5 million euros last year, which is, according to the company, mainly a result of a price rise of two of its dailies (Delo and Slovenske novice), economizing measures and the transfer of some of the funds reserved for compensation claims. The supervisory board discussed the company's business report from 2001 on Wednesday, whereas the distribution of the profit is to be decided upon in March.
