Public Sector Wages Bill Passes First Reading in Parliament

Ljubljana, 27 February - Accompanied by a lot of criticism and remarks by lawmakers, the bill on public sector wages went through first parliament reading on Wednesday. The bill was outlined prior to the debate by Interior Minister Rado Bohinc, who stressed that Slovenia needs a new wage system in the public sector, which the government feels must be constructed and implemented gradually.
