Convention on the EU's Future - an Exercise in Membership for Candidate Countries
Brussels, 28 February - The convention which is to draft the guidelines for the future shape of the EU is set to convene for its maiden meeting in Brussels on Thursday. Within a year, the convention has to come up with proposals for a new, long-term reform of the Union which would enable it to face new challenges and work with the same efficiencies after its membership increases with the admission of new countries.
