Banks Will not Necessarily Be Sold, Says Finance Minister

Maribor, 28 February - Slovenia's public debt will most likely not be reduced according to plan, as there is a great chance that the planned bank privatisation will not be carried out to the extent originally anticipated, Finance Minister Anton Rop told Thursday's edition of daily Vecer. However, no changes to the bank privatisation programme would be made even if the bank privatisation is not carried out according to plan, Rop said. "It all seems that banks might not be sold," Rop was quoted by Vecer as saying.
