Securities Market Agency Considers SanPaolo IMI's Bid for Banka Koper Successful

Ljubljana, 28 February - After the Italian banking group SanPaolo IMI announced on Wednesday that its takeover bid for Banka Koper, Slovenia's fifth largest bank, was a success, Banka Koper said on Thursday that the Securities Market Agency considers the takeover bid successful too. SanPaolo IMI now has to wait for the go-ahead of the Bank of Slovenia. The central bank's council is in session today, and is expected to announce its decision around noon on Friday.
