Defence Expenditures Are Important Criterion for NATO Membership, U.S. Delegation Says
Ljubljana, 28 February - U.S. permanent representative to NATO, Ambassador Nicholas Burns, who headed the U.S. delegation which paid a visit to Slovenia on Thursday to discuss Slovenia's NATO membership preparations, told the press that as the U.S. has invested a lot of resources into upgrading its armed forces, it expects both NATO members and candidate countries to do the same.
