LJSE Trading Week Marked by Pessimism Despite Reports of Huge 2001 Profits

Ljubljana, 2 March - Although companies last week posted overwhelmingly successful 2001 reports, the mood on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) was not too optimistic. The benchmark SBI 20 index finished trading at 2,220.76 points, down 4.53 points on the week. Some experts moreover that the slight stock market downturn was also a result of possible measures that the Bank of Slovenia may introduce on order to restrain the overwhelming influx of foreign currency recorded in the recent months.
