Slovenia's Ceplak Breaks World Record in Women's 800 Metres

Vienna, 3 March - Slovene athlete Jolanda Ceplak broke the world record in women's 800-metre run on Sunday at the European Indoor Championships in Athletics held in Vienna. Ceplak finished the race in 1:55.82, some half a second off the time set by the previous record holder Christel Wachtel of Germany (1:56.40) in 1998. Ceplak won gold in a close finish with Austria's favourite Stefanie Graf.
