Slovenia Pledges to Ratify Kyoto Protocol along with EU Members and Candidates

Brussels, 4 March - Environment Ministers from EU candidates, including Slovenia's Janez Kopac, pledged on Monday that they would ratify the Kyoto protocol on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by this summer. The move came at a working dinner held in Brussels where environment ministers from EU members, accompanied by their counterparts from candidate countries, agreed to ratify the document by 1 June, before the summit on sustainable development, scheduled for September in Johannesburg.
