Humanist and Visionary Soros Decorated with High State Order
Ljubljana, 5 March - George Soros, a philanthropist who set up a network of open society institutes promoting democracy in over 30 countries, was decorated by Slovene President Milan Kucan for his contribution to an open and tolerant society in Slovenia. The ceremony at which Soros, a Hungarian-born world's top businessman, received the honorary medal of freedom was held at the presidential palace on Tuesday, and was also attended by U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia Johnny Young.
