Meeting of Chief Negotiators Shows Differences Among EU Candidates

Warsaw, 8 March - No anticipated joint statement was passed at a meeting of chief negotiators from the Luxembourg group of EU candidate countries in Warsaw on Friday, at which positions on the EU financial strategy for enlargement were discussed. There have been few shared arguments, which - as STA was told by the Slovene delegation - even more strongly justifies Ljubljana's persistence that the principle of differentiation should be considered at the EU accession talks and that each country should be treated individually because of candidates' different features.
