Slovenia's Balance of Payments Deficit Plummets in 2001

Ljubljana, 9 March - Trade flows in 2001 were much more favourable than expected, especially trade in goods and services, the Economic Outlook and Policy Service (SKEP) of the Slovene Chamber of Commerce and Industry writes in the latest edition of its publication Economic Outlook. The balance of payments deficit thus stood at US$ 66.9 million, dropping considerably from the US$ 611.5 million recorded in 2000.
