Bishops from SE Europe Call for Full Reconciliation in the Region

Celje, 13 March - Presidents of bishops' conferences from countries of Southeastern Europe, who are to wrap up their two-day gathering in the Slovene city of Celje on Wednesday, have called for a setting up of special commissions of historians which would examine and clarify the complex problems the region has faced in the past, especially in the 20th century. "In order to be able to tone down past conflicts, we need an objective historic truth," Ljubljana Archbishop and Slovene Metropolitan Franc Rode stressed.
