Compromises Will Be Needed on Both Sides, Says New EU Ambassador to Slovenia

Ljubljana, 14 March - The problems Slovenia is facing in EU accession negotiations are not insurmountable. All Slovene demands will not be met, as compromises on both sides are necessary for a final solution, said the new head of the European Commission delegation to Slovenia, Erwan Fouere, an Irishman who officially took the post on Wednesday. Still, Slovenia's preparedness and the progress made in negotiations are a good basis for the country to complete the process of accession within the set deadlines, the EU ambassador said in an interview for STA.
