Ljubljana Archbishop in Conciliatory Tone with Slovene President
Ljubljana, 17 March - For the first time since since assuming the top Roman Catholic position in Slovenia, Slovene Metropolitan and Ljubljana Archbishop Franc Rode has commended Slovene President Milan Kucan, whom some informally consider more of an adversary than a friend of Rode's, Sunday's edition of Delo observes. The comment comes a few days after Archbishop Rode said he was "proud" of President Kucan, responding to Kucan's address to a conference of bishops from SE Europe in which Kucan explained his view of the Church's efforts for peace in the Balkans.
