Archeologists Confirm the Discovery of a Large Roman Military Camp

Obrežje, 18 March - After archeologists last December announced the discovery of a large 1st century Roman rural settlement and many important artifacts on the construction sites of a future motorway in the southeast of Slovenia near the Slovene-Croatian border, head of the excavations, British archeologist Phillip Mason, told STA on Monday that further findings confirmed the experts' predictions that the site was a large Roman military camp, the first one of its kind discovered in Slovenia.
