Eurobarometer: Most EU Candidates' Citizens Wish to Enter EU in 2004, Slovenia in 2005

Brussels, 18 March - While most citizens in EU candidate countries wish to enter the EU in 2004 and expect to actually see this happening in 2006, the majority of Slovenes wish and expect this to happen in 2005, show the findings of the first Eurobarometer on public opinion in 13 EU applicant countries, which were released on Monday. 56 percent of Slovenes would vote for the country's accession to the EU at a referendum, while 22 percent would vote against and another 22 percent were undecided or would not vote at the referendum, shows Eurobarometer.
