Large Number of Illegal Immigrants Caught on the Slovene Coast Last Week

Ljubljana, 18 March - As many as 52 illegal immigrants were caught in the Slovene coastal area last week, said the Koper police on Monday. According to authorities, the area has seen a 48-percent drop in the number of illegal immigrants compared to the first trimester of 2001, mostly due to the fact that Romanian citizens no longer require Schengen visas to enter Slovenia since the beginning of 2002.
