Rupel Calls for Human Rights to be Preserved in Fight Against Terrorism

Geneva, 19 March - Attending a session of the U.N. Human Rights Commission in Geneva on Tuesday, Slovenia's Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel stressed in his speech that terrorism represents denial of basic human rights and should thus be fought against with all means available. At the same time, however, the existing standards of human rights protection should be met as well as characteristics of democratic, tolerant and open societies preserved, Rupel added.
