Croatian Savers Not to Appeal Trieste Court Decision, but Ask for More Money in Civil Suit

Zagreb, 20 March - A group of 176 Croatian account holders in LB, a former Slovene bank, will not appeal Tuesday's decision of a Trieste court which had dismissed the group's claims to freeze 1.65 million euros of the Trieste branch of the Slovene bank Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB), the representative of the group, Bozidar Vukasovic, said on Wednesday. However, he announced he would go on and file a civil lawsuit, asking for an additional 10 million euros on behalf of all several thousand savers that lost deposits in the former Slovene bank.
