It Is Up to the Government to End the Strike, Doctors Believe

Ljubljana, 27 March - An emergency assembly of Fides, the trade union od doctors and dentists, authorised on Wednesday the main strike committee and its negotiators to call off the strike if the government approves of an accord drafted by Fides. If the government refuses to accept the deal, the strike - which began on 19 March - will continue until next Tuesday, only to escalate on Wednesday, 3 April, Fides president Konrad Kustrin told the press. The assembly, moreover, unanimously called upon Health Minister Dusan Keber to resign.
