NATO Enlargement is Genuine Opportunity for Slovenia, According to U.S. Official

Ljubljana, 28 March - The public support for Slovenia's bid to become a NATO member topped the agenda Thursday as chair of the parliamentary defence committee Rudolf Petan received Ronald Asmus, senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington, who was accompanied by U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia Johnny Young, the parliament said. "The upcoming NATO enlargement is a genuine opportunity for Slovenia to become a NATO member," assessed Asmus, who also inquired about the possible referendum on NATO membership.
