U.S. Has Formally Backed No NATO Candidate, Drnovsek Says After Meeting Bush

Washington, 17 May - "No candidacy has formally been backed, however considering what has been said, Slovenia's chances are very good," Slovene Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek said Friday after a working meeting with U.S. President George W. Bush, unable to confirm whether his talks with Bush have shown that Slovenia would definitely be invited to join NATO at the Alliance's summit in Prague.
