Slovene Red Cross Comes Under Renewed Scrutiny

Ljubljana, 17 May - The Slovene Red Cross, plagued by allegations of wrongdoing at the beginning of the year, has once again caught the public eye, as the incumbent Red Cross management reported that a review of all contracts has shown that the salary of former Secretary General Mirko Jelenic, who was forced to step down amidst wide-spread allegations of giving unlawful loans, was abnormally high. According to Friday's edition of the daily Delo, it even exceeded that of the Slovene president.
