Slovene-Croatian Border Accord Was Initialled Prematurely, Says Mesic

Brdo pri Kranju, 1 June - The Slovene-Croatian border agreement was initialled "somewhat prematurely as neither the Slovene nor the Croatian public was aware it would get such an accord", Croatian President Stipe Mesic told the press on Saturday, before he was due to meet with his Slovene counterpart Milan Kucan later today. In order to avoid a similar situation in the future, the public should be involved in a debate on such issues, Mesic pointed out upon the conclusion of the 9th Central European summit.
