Friendly Relations Between Slovenia and Croatia Are an Illusion, a Paper Says

Ljubljana, 3 June - Presidents Milan Kucan and Stipe Mesic (of Croatia) are considered to be true political friends. However the events during the presidential summit in Slovenia last Friday and Saturday testify that the period of optimism ended once and for all in the relations between Ljubljana and Zagreb. Judging from Croatian media reports, the summit was almost all about the Slovene-Croatian misunderstanding on account of a (canceled) working breakfast between the two presidents, a Slovene daily observes in the Monday editorial.
