Arhar Enters the Presidential Race with the Support of Prominent Slovenes

Ljubljana, 4 June - Pointing out the importance of co-operation and consensus based on trust, former central bank governor France Arhar on Tuesday announced his plan to run for president at this autumn elections. He said he would "go to the market" to collect the 5,000 signatures necessary to file the candidacy, and is confident to get them, as his bid is supported by a number of his friends, prominent Slovene public figures, including Chancellor of the University of Ljubljana Joze Mencinger, several economists, historians and artists, who were present at today's news conference.
