Social Partners Initial Wages Agreement

Ljubljana, 4 June - Social partners on Tuesday managed to reach an agreement on the adjustment of wages after long and tough negotiations that started on 25 February, and initialed the document which foresees a 4.2-percent base-wage increase this August, to be followed by an additional 2.5-percent adjustment on 1 August 2003. The implementation of the accord is to be regulated by a special act, which the parliament is to adopt in fast track in the shortest possible time, presumably in July.
