Minister But: Reform of EU Agriculture Policy Should not Halt Enlargement

Brussels, 6 June - "The otherwise essential reform of the EU's common agriculture policy should in no way halt the enlargement of the Union," Slovene Agriculture Minister Franci But underlined during his address at the European agriculture convention on Thursday in Brussels. Ministers from the other EU applicant countries also expressed opposition to any linking of the EU agricultural reform to the enlargement process at the first-ever session of this forum, which has convened in the framework of the Convention on the future makeup of the EU.
