Presidential Candidate Ivan Kramberger Was Shot Ten Years Ago

Ljubljana, 6 June - On 7 June 1992, Ivan Kramberger, a candidate at the 1992 presidential elections, was murdered in his home village Jurovski Dol, NE Slovenia. The "good man of Negova", as he was called, was shot with a hunting rifle at an election rally as he attempted to shore up support for the 1992 elections, after he had managed to get 18.5 percent of the vote in 1990. The perpetrator was sentenced to 12 years in prison, but was released last May.
