Wife of Alleged Slovene Immigrant Trafficker Receives Additional 16 Months in Prison

Trieste, 6 June - An appeals court in Italy has sentenced Wang Xu Mei, wife and accomplice of alleged Slovene trafficker of immigrants Josip Loncaric, to six years and four months in prison, extending her sentence from the five years passed by by a court last year, according to Trieste-based daily Il Piccolo. In contrast, Loncaric, suspected of being the head of an extensive criminal network, is still at large, as his trial in Slovenia was postponed several times due to procedural and later medical reasons.
