Slovene President Awards Former U.S. Senator

Ljubljana, 6 June - A Silver Mark of Freedom for merits in Slovenia's promotion in the world was conferred by Slovene President Milan Kucan to former U.S. senator William V. Roth on Thursday. Roth, who is currently on visit to Slovenia and has met with a number of prominent officials, was persistently in favour of Slovenia's NATO accession while he was still in office. He also proposed a number of resolutions on the matter to the U.S. Senate.
