STA Coverage on Tuesday, 11 June

Ljubljana, 10 June - The STA English service will cover the following events on Tuesday, 11 June:

LJUBLJANA - The joint EU-Slovene consultative committee, a bilateral body associating business and social interest groups in Slovenia and members of the EU Economic-Social Committee, is to convene for the first time. The two-day meeting is to be addressed by Slovene Europe Minister Janez Potocnik and chair of the EU Economic-Social Committee Goeke Rerichs.

BRUSSELS - Slovenia and EU are to meet for a final round of negotiations on further liberalisation of the agricultural products trade.

ANKARA/ISTANBUL - Slovene Transport Minister Jakob Presecnik is to pay a two-day working visit to Turkey. He is scheduled to meet his host and counterpart Oktai Vural in Ankara at 10:30 A.M. to discuss bilateral relations and transport policy in SE Europe. The pair is scheduled to sign a bilateral agreement on transport of passengers and goods in international road transport (11 A.M.).

LJUBLJANA - The parliament is to convene for an extraordinary session to discuss the leftover agenda from May. Because of the postponement veto of the National Council on the act on return of investments in public telecommunication network, the MPs are to redebate the bill.

MURSKA SOBOTA - A business conference organised by regional organisations from the poorest part of Slovenia is to be attended by Economics Minister Tea Petrin, head of the Agency for Regional Development Bojan Dejak, chairman of the board of largest oil trader Petrol, Janez Lotric and other prominent businessmen and officials.
