European Parliament to Give Last Advice to Candidates Before the End of Negotiations

Strasbourg, 11 June - The European Parliament is to convene on Wednesday to confirm the first reports on candidate countries' progress in the crucial year when accession negotiations are to wrap up. While EU applicants are to be alerted to tasks that they are yet to fulfil - Slovenia is to be urged to settle open issues with Croatia and speed up privatisation - members are to be called upon to adopt as soon as possible the common negotiating positions on the final negotiating chapters.
