STA Coverage on Wednesday, 12 June

Ljubljana, 11 June - The STA English service will cover the following events on Wednesday, 12 June:

COPENHAGEN - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to pay a working visit to Denmark, where he is to meet his host, Foreign Minister Per Stig Moeller (12:30 PM), Europe Minister Bertel Haarder (10:30 AM) and chairman of the parliamentary committee for European Affairs Claus Larsen Jensen (11 AM). EU and NATO enlargement are to top Rupel's agenda.

STRASBOURG - The European Parliament is to discuss the first reports on the progress the candidate countries, including Slovenia, have made towards EU accession.

LJUBLJANA - Slovene Europe Minister Janez Potocnik and head of the European Commission to Slovenia Erwan Fouere are to sign a EUR 1.4m financial memorandum of the 1999 PHARE preaccession aid for the improvement of nuclear safety at 10 AM.

SEOGWIPO - The Slovene national football team is to take on Paraguay in its final match at the 2002 World Cup, Group B (1:30 PM CET). The Slovene side has no chance to qualify for the round of sixteen, however, the team will try to win its first point at the World Cup.
