C.O.'s of Home Units Largely to Blame for Police Rebellion at Summit, Claims Police Chief

Ljubljana, 12 June - The Director General of the Slovene Police Marko Pogorevc held a press conference on Wednesday which touched on the protest of about 200 police officers that were unhappy with the accommodation on the night before the summit of Central European presidents in Slovenia on 31 May and 1 June. According to Pogorevc, the police officers that were to provide security at the summit were not given basic information on where they would spend the night and the fact that accommodations varied. That information should have been provided by their home units in Maribor and Celje, but the unit failed to follow instructions of the police administration, Pogorevc said.
