Slovenia Has Irreversibly Become an EU Member, PM Drnovsek Says

Ljubljana, 14 June - Slovenia has done most of the work concerning its accession to the European Union and is therefore about to achieve its goal - join the Union, Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek told the press on Friday. "Slovenia has irreversibly become an EU member," he added. He does not expect any surprises over the next few months as regards the country's membership, which will in Drnovsek's opinion be attained early in 2004, "as it is foreseen by us as well as the EU, maybe with a few months' delay".
