Slovenia's Population Nearly Two Million, Latest Census Shows

Ljubljana, 14 June - Slovenia has a population of 1,948,250, according to the preliminary report of the 2002 population count released on Friday. Since the last census in 1991 the population increased by 1.8 percent, officials of the National Statistical Office said presenting the report. The final results of this year's census will be available in April 2003.
