Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek Will Run for President

Ljubljana, 14 June - Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek on Friday put an end to speculations surrounding his possible candidacy for president, telling the press that he has decided to run for office in the autumn elections. The current political situation in Slovenia is sufficiently stable for a smooth change in the government, Drnovsek explained his decision and added that he was inclined to step down as prime minister before the elections in order to make "the situation more clear".
