Survey Shows Public Opinion Split Over NATO, But in Favour of the EU

Maribor, 17 June - If a referendum on Slovenia's NATO membership had been held on Sunday, the vote would have been tight. As a survey by the daily Vecer showed on Monday, 40 percent of those asked would have voted against and 39 percent in favour of the membership. Compared to a similar survey published in April, there is a decrease in the NATO support, while the support for EU integration has increased slightly, amounting to 66 percent with 25 percent of those questioned against.
