Kucan Hopes that the Irish Would Vote for the Ratification of Nice Treaty

Dublin, 18 June - Slovene President Milan Kucan expressed a desire that the Irish would vote for the ratification of the Nice Treaty in a repeated referendum, thus offering Slovenia as well as other EU candidates the development opportunities that Ireland had been able to enjoy. This is what Kucan said on Tuesday in Dublin in an address to a session of the Irish National Forum on Europe, a forum aiming to exchange views on EU issues between Ireland's political parties and interest groups.
