EU Generally Happy with Nuclear Safety in Slovenia, Further Efforts Necessary

Brussels, 26 June - Slovenia has sufficiently fulfilled the committments and recomendations on nuclear safety, however further efforts are necessary to assure total independence of the supervisory body - the Nuclear Safety Agency - and to finish constructing the network of earthquake observatories around the Krsko N-plant. These are some of the highlights of the second report on nuclear safety in candidate countries, confirmed recently by the EU's atomic question group.
